Anti-Stripping Agents

ASOKAT (Premium Anti-Stripping Agent for Asphalt)

ASOKAT is a liquid adhesion promoter dosed directly into hot mix asphalt to prevent moisture-induced stripping between bitumen and aggregate.

It improves wet cohesion in the finished pavement, helping mixes pass boiling water and retained stability testing to specification.

What Is an Anti-Stripping Agent?

Stripping is the loss of bond between bitumen and aggregate caused by water intrusion — moisture works its way under the bitumen film, breaks the adhesive bond, and leaves the pavement to ravel, crack, and pothole prematurely. An anti-stripping agent is a liquid additive dosed into hot mix asphalt that promotes a stronger, more water-resistant bond between the binder and the stone, so the mix keeps its integrity even in wet service conditions.

Anti-stripping agents are essential wherever aggregate sources are moisture-susceptible or the pavement will see sustained wet weather — highways, airfields, and any hot mix asphalt project where long-term durability depends on passing boiling water and retained stability specification tests.
